Teaching

Katie Hurdon

I believe that music and finding, exploring, and refining one’s voice should be a joyous, liberating and empowering experience.

The foundation of my creative approach to voice instruction, which draws on various disciplines to design lessons around each student’s interests, strengths and goals, is recognizing the power of playful self- awareness.

My teaching philosophy and ethics are continuously shaped by my musical education, my life as an artist, maker, and the beauty of daily life.

I am also bilingual and thusly offer all lessons in French or English

Singing Lessons

I happily accept vocal students of all ages and abilities for individualized lessons in my home, or via Skype. I am situated on Boul. Alexandre-Tache just one minute across the Champlain (Island Park) Bridge. Elementary and secondary aged children, aspiring performers, the gifted, the shy and the passionately curious are all welcome. I will customize a learning plan that reflects and builds upon your particular desires, goals, strengths and interests.

Rates: Singing lessons are $25 for a 30 minute session, $50 for one hour.

If you are interested in lessons, or would like more information please contact me.

VocalEase Voice Coaching

VocalEase coaching is a form of voice training specifically designed for those who want to find, strengthen, and develop their voice. Rather than having a musical (singing) focus, this form of voice training involves developing the power of one’s natural voice with a focus on strength, control, projection and resonance. These lessons are especially beneficial for professionals whose careers place them in leadership or instructional roles where verbal communication must be clear, carrying and natural.

Rates: VocalEase sessions are $30 for a half hour session and $60 for one hour.
